(Austin, TX) – May 8, 2008 – Asbury Park, NJ based Latin rockers deSoL are well “on their way” along the 2008 tour, criss-crossing the country and playing their tunes for crowds from coast to coast. While time is always at a premium for any touring band, Albie Monterossa and the guys have managed to produce a video for “On My Way,” the new single, as well as participate in the Heineken and USC Grad Student Music Video Project. Summer finds the group on the West Coast, opening for the B-Side Players in a series of venues including West Hollywood’s famous Key Club on June 6th, as well as getting down at Carnival.

In a bold display of creativity and ingenuity deSoL took it upon themselves to independently film, edit, and produce the music video for “On My Way.” Using tour stops to capture a variety of locations, the final outcome is a montage of the white-clad band marching to their anthem from the desert sands to the heart of the South by Southwest Festival. Having even constructed the video’s set, deSoL debunks the notion that a big crew and swollen budget are necessary for a high-quality production. Perhaps deSoL found the inspiration to film their video as a result of being chosen to participate in the 2008 Heineken and USC Grad Student Music Video Project. In this exclusive experiment, deSoL and Lifehouse are teamed with a group of USC film students in a contest to produce a music video for each band. The selected treatments will be shot in August and premier at a gala at the end of the year where both bands will be performing.

As the thermometer begins to climb deSoL finds salvation in the cool Pacific breeze of the West Coast, touring California, Oregon and Washington. Wearing out the 101, the band will be opening for the B-Side Players in venues from Seattle to Los Angeles. Additionally, deSoL will be showcased in San Diego’s Green Flash Concert Series and San Francisco’s famous Carnival. This is sure to be a wonderful experience, as the eclectic festival annually draws several hundred thousand visitors. The band wraps up their western excursion with a huge show Friday, June 6th from the Key Club. Located in West Hollywood, this venue has hosted numerous big names and remains one of LA’s hippest nightspots. With Cali in the rear view, it’s on to the Midwest with the East Coast and home sweet New Jersey to follow.
