July 2009 is the first anniversary of UK-based website carhirefaroairport.com. The website is managed by Matthew May & Rute Oliveira from UK company Blue Valley Software Ltd.

We caught up with Matthew & Rute in Poole, Dorset to discuss the car hire operation.

Operations director Matthew says "The idea for our websites is to provide easy to use, instant online car rental quotes at the cheapest prices, and also to provide a personal service to our clients. Many people are nervous about booking a car abroad and have a lot of questions which we can answer by telephone or email".

"I think the first year is probably the most difficult" says Rute. "We have to offer competitive deals by forming alliances with small local car hire companies in the Algarve. In busy periods it can be difficult to get the larger cars such as 7 and 9 seaters, so we always advise customers to book their hire car early. Luckily we have done very well with the search engines and business is going well".

With an eye to the future Matthew & Rute are now expanding the business and providing economy car hire from Malaga Airport in Spain with a new website www.malagacarhirespain.com.
