humanitarianguyana.org — A hidden birthday cake was found for Benjamin's Heward birthday today. The word on the street is the cake is set to explode on March 15, 2010... the day of Mr. Heward's birthday. Local authorities were called to investigate and concluded it's merely javascript and poses no threat to public safety. That remains to be seen as malicious javascript has been found in the wild. Insider sources reveal that the script poses no threat and is in fact intelligent enough to countdown to the big event. What will happen once the countdown in complete? One analyst predicts that the website, humanitarianguyana.org, contains a hidden "easter egg" -- an embedded piece of code that only activates on certain preset conditions. Perhaps we will never know until that time comes; perhaps then it will be too late.
"A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, web page or video game. The term was coined – according to Warren Robinett – by Atari after they were pointed to the secret message left by Robinett in the game Adventure.[1] It draws a parallel with the custom of the Easter egg hunt observed in many Western nations as well as the last Russian imperial family's tradition of giving elaborately jeweled egg-shaped creations by Carl Fabergé which contained hidden surprises."
